For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:4-6).
The word “chosen” suggests a careful and deliberate selection. Here is what God says:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5).
When a man and woman have sexual intercourse, there are 30-60 million sperms cells released in that one moment. So, there are at least 30 million chances that the person born from that conception would not have been you. I hope you got that. The sperm cell that brought you into this world is one of the millions. If any other sperm cell had touched that egg, you would not have been born. Someone else, with a unique genetic code and fingerprint, would have come in your place. That can only mean you were divinely selected, and not just a random occurrence. God says before you were conceived, He knew you.
In the natural, we are subjected to time. God is not. In the spiritual, the past, present, and future are a present reality for God. He sees it all. He knows it all. You may think you are an accident, but you are not. You may think you are the product of a nightmare, or a random act of pleasure seeking, but you are not. You were chosen and divinely appointed and supernaturally placed in your particular geographical location for this time. God choose you out of millions of possibilities, and He calls you son or daughter. You are not a servant. We are the spiritual brothers and sisters of Jesus.
Father, thank You for choosing me out of the millions of possibilities. Thank You for the call that is on my life, and the specific purpose You have given me to fulfill. I step into my divine calling and destiny now, by faith, because I was chosen and appointed by You, in Jesus Name.
